Regular inspection and testing is designed to protect you, the employer, your employees and other people (customers etc) in the workplace, against the risk of personal injury, fire or even death from a faulty appliance during work or social activities. |
The scope of the legislation is very wide and includes all portable and transportable electrical equipment.

Also:
“An employers duty includes the provision and maintenance of plant and systems at work that are, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risks to health”
The above legislation is just a small example of what is required. It clearly identifies the importance of providing safe electrical equipment within the work place, Portable Appliance Testing ensures all electrical portable equipment is safe to use at the time of testing. |
